Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Quintic Growth LLC ("Quintic Growth," "we," "us"). By creating an account, completing a purchase, or otherwise using Rooted with the Vine (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own account. Parents and guardians may create child profiles for users under 13 under the Family plan; see our Children's Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Rooted with the Vine provides small-group Bible study materials, a Verse of the Day surface, a gamified habit tracker (streaks, XP, freezes), and related features including a planned "Learn the Bible" quiz mode. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. The free Gospel of Luke study is available to everyone with or without an account; other materials require an account, and some require a paid membership.

3. Your account

You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password secure. You agree to provide accurate information, including a working email address, and to update it if it changes. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe it is being used in violation of these Terms.

4. Family plans and Leader plans

Family plan: you may create up to six profiles for members of your household. You are responsible for everyone using the profiles under your Family plan, including all minors. Profiles must be used by actual members of one household, not unrelated individuals.

Leader plan: you may invite up to ten additional households as guests of your small group. Their access is contingent on your Leader plan remaining active. You are not responsible for billing on their behalf; they may have their own accounts, but they will lose guest access if your Leader plan ends.

5. Billing, trials, and renewal

We use Stripe to process payments. By starting a paid plan you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on the schedule you selected.

• Family Monthly ($6.00/month USD): renews automatically each month until canceled.
• Family Annual ($48.00/year USD): renews automatically each year until canceled.
• Leader Monthly / Annual ($15.00/month or $120.00/year USD): same.
• Lifetime Family ($249.00 USD, one-time): no recurring billing.
• Streak Freeze packs: one-time micro-purchases credited to your account immediately.

Free trial: paid subscriptions begin with a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you authorize us to charge the plan's stated price. You may cancel at any time during the trial.

We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

6. Refunds and cancellation

Subscriptions (monthly and annual): you may cancel at any time from your dashboard or via the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. All sales are final. We do not provide refunds; canceling stops future renewals and you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.

Lifetime: you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase by emailing tmillard@crossvale.com. After 7 days the purchase is non-refundable.

Streak Freeze packs: these are digital goods credited to your account immediately upon purchase and are non-refundable.

7. Streak freezes and donations

Streak freezes are an in-product utility that preserves your daily streak if you miss a day. Freezes have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for money, and cannot be transferred outside the Service. We may grant freezes for milestones (level-ups, completed sessions, streak anniversaries) at our discretion.

You may donate freezes you own to another member ("Direct donation") or to a shared pool that auto-grants to members whose streak is about to break ("Community pool"). Donations are final and non-refundable once sent. We may limit donation frequency to prevent abuse. By donating, you grant us the right to display your first name (or "A friend" if you choose anonymous) on the recipient's screen.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our written permission.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service except for public search-engine indexing.
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person, including via donation messages, group invites, or shared content.
• Attempt to bypass paywalls, manipulate XP, streaks, or leaderboards, or share Family plan profiles outside your actual household.
• Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable law.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

9. Your content

"Your content" means anything you submit through the Service: donation messages, profile details, study notes, question submissions (if you're on the Leader plan), and similar.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your donation message to its recipient).

You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights, defame anyone, or violate any law.

10. Intellectual property

Quintic Growth LLC owns all the Rooted with the Vine content we author. This includes study guides, prayers, discussion questions, designs, code, and the "Rooted with the Vine" name and logo, except where the content is licensed from a third party. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to access and use this content for personal and small-group study while your account is active. You may not copy the content for redistribution outside your small group.

Sharing a single study session URL with friends or family is encouraged. Posting full session content publicly is not permitted.

11. Bible text and faith content

Scripture passages displayed in the Service are reproduced from copyrighted Bible translations under license from their publishers, or are public-domain translations. Translation attribution appears next to each passage.

Rooted with the Vine is non-denominational. Where commentary, discussion questions, or interpretation are offered, they reflect the views of our editorial team and do not represent any specific church or denomination. The Service is for study and family discussion; it is not a substitute for pastoral counsel.

12. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), Cloudflare (hosting and edge), and YouVersion (Bible.com deep links). Your use of features that integrate with these providers may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific content will be accurate or current.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quintic Growth LLC, its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Quintic Growth LLC and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [County, Texas], and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction there.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or via the Service at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
